Intro to Ballet: A Six Week Course for Absolute Beginner Adults! Improve your coordination, balance, and core strength! Develop grace, better posture, and exercise your brain.
6 weeks with Bianca Always wanted to try ballet, but never had the chance? Or maybe the classes you tried were too intimidating? This class is designed specifically for you! This is the very basics of movement fundamentals laid out in a simple format that builds from week to week, slowly and with repetition. The goal is not just to give you a ballet class, but also to give you a better, healthier way of moving in your everyday life outside the studio. This class is also taught in such a fashion so as to make an excellent alternative to Pilates and providing an opportunity to develop core engagement, improve posture, and work out imbalances. You are guaranteed personal attention because each session is limited in size. Upon completion of this course students will be prepared to take adult ballet at other studios in the city without feeling lost. Students are always welcome to repeat this course. This course covers basic movements and positions, and focuses primarily on barre work. No special shoes or dance clothing required. Wednesdays 6:30* (9/6-10/11) Sold Out in early registration, but message us and get on the waiting list!! Saturdays 11:00am* (9/9-10/14) Saturdays 10:15am* (9/10-10/15) ENROLLMENT OPENS 7/30/2023!! Section limit 9 students. Enroll HERE
*Why do I give such a steep discount for two sessions a week? Because I want to do everything I can to encourage my students to take class twice a week. Adults taking ballet for the first time are having to develop brand new sets of neuropathways and use muscles they may never have never actively used before. Students who are able to practice the exercises in a supervised capacity more often see results much more rapidly and master the movements more quickly.

Turns! with Bianca
Turns are the real test of technique and can cause ballet students a lot of frustration. This course is designed to help students create the necessary muscle memory and timing to bring the necessary components of turns together. Because it often takes practice over multiple sessions to get these disparate elements to "gel" it is highly recommended students attend for the entire series as a single drop-in might be insufficient to see results. Prior Ballet Experience Required TBD
Dance Mechanics!
We use a lot of visuals and metaphors in teaching dance, but nothing beats experiencing the sensation of proper technique! This class will break down ballet fundamentals into practice with certain props. The class will help you understand how to use your muscles with proper alignment to create strong technique and prevent injuries. This course is being put on at the request of our students who have loved having these exercises occasionally in their regular ballet class. Minimal ballet training acceptable for participation. This class is also ideal for pointe prep. TBD BLB class cards and tuition accepted!
